OTE £80,000 – £100,000+ (uncapped) and benefits

My clients are a machine tool company with an impressive range of products in their portfolio.  They have a range of brand new machine tools exclusive to the UK – however they also buy and sell used machines as well as exclusively representing a market leading and innovative software system brand. They have gone from strength to strength over the last few years and are now seeking an Area Sales Manager to work throughout the Midlands.  This area has performed well and has an existing, active, and well managed database.

This organisation is a fantastic business to work for with a lovely feel and an impressive facility/showroom.

Sales experience is preferred but not essential – the successful applicant will be managing themselves on a day to day basis although fully supported by the applications team and management and they recognise the benefits of assisting good engineers off the shop floor to develop a long term career in sales.

The commission structure is extremely lucrative, uncapped and the base salary is to be discussed depending on the applicant and their experience.

Travelling throughout the Midlands, applicants must be living on the patch.

Software Sales – National

Circa £50,000 plus commission and benefits, including car.

My clients are a unique organisation offering a portfolio of services ranging from machine software (embracing factory digitalisation) to upgrades to spare parts to refurbs to machine installation and removals amongst other offerings.  They are looking for an enthusiastic Technical Sales Manager to head up the brand new UK sales team. In this role, you will be required to source new customers and business contacts, demonstrate the technical features of our products, drive sales, and maintain strong customer relations.

To ensure success, you should have strong knowledge of general automation and control systems, primarily with some sort of automation control systems, Siemens, Fanuc etc. A good background in sales would be ideal, but they are flexible for the right candidate. The ability to travel is required from time to time but depending on general geographic location of the successful candidate, excessive overnight travel will be as small as possible. Also you will be required to attend various courses and seminars around the world, Germany, UK, Israel and the USA.

  • Composing tender documents and customer proposals.

  • Maintaining personal expense records and customer visit records on our web-based management system

Tooling Sales – Home Counties AND/OR Lower East Midlands

Up to £56,000 (dependent on experience) plus bonuses, profit share and benefits

My clients are a leading and unique cutting tool organisation.  They have a low staff turnover and provide an innovative tooling range as well as complete solutions for the metalworking industry.  They are currently experiencing their best year to date having achieved considerable growth in all areas and supply across all tooling ranges.  They seek a sales engineer to manage their existing database in the South East, gain new business opportunities and achieve growth in the Home Counties area.  Ideally applicants will live on patch and be able to move freely across it.

Sales experience is preferable and would involve a salary towards the high end of the figure given (dependent on the amount of experience).  However, my clients recognise the benefits of training and developing keen, communicative engineers from the shopfloor looking for the chance to move into something more commercial.  Whilst this would come with a lower salary, every effort is made to develop employees as soon as possible and will come with financial rewards as employees continue to succeed.

Applicants MUST have a thorough understanding of both manufacturing processes and the application of cutting tools. You will ideally have experience of working with 5 axis Machining Centres although all interested candidates are invited to apply.  Communication skills are essential.

The role is field based and there is an existing database to take over.  You will join a solid team and enjoy much support on a day to day basis.

South West – Tooling Technical Sales Support

£35,000-£45,000 dependent on technical experience plus benefits.

My clients are an expanding tooling company who continue to increase staff levels whilst watching their turnover grow.  They seek a South West based Internal Technical Tooling Sales Support Engineer to work internally, with both customers and supporting engineers out in the field from a customer service point of view.  You will be joining a small, friendly team who will all have the same aim to push the company forward.

This role will offer serious promotional opportunities for engineers looking to move into something more commercial.  As the company continues to expand, new roles within the business are forecasted to arise, creating key opportunities within management.

Day to day responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) dealing with customers and colleague enquiries, co-ordinating orders whilst applying technical knowledge to ensure the customer gets the very best product to meet their needs, building good relationships with suppliers, partners and customers and being mindful of commercial aspects for the good of the business.  The role is office based (other than for exhibitions and training) but this is likely to change as the role develops.

The role would suit a communicative, apprentice trained engineer who has spent time on the shop floor and looking to move into a more commercial role whilst building a career.
